Bastiaan Bretveld
In August of 2011 Bastiaan Bretveld obtained his Bachelor Degree in Urban Planning at the University of Amsterdam. Immediately after he started working as a junior consultant at TransTec. In order to gain some practical working experience, he had decided to take a temporary break from studying. At some point in the coming years he will return to University in order to obtain his Master’s degree His areas of expertise comprise Urban Planning and Mobility Solutions as well as Sustainable Development and Quality of the Living Environment. Bastiaan has also obtained a Minor in Transport, Infrastructure and Logistics from the Technical University of Delft.
Prior to joining TransTec, Bastiaan had already successfully concluded a 5 month internship at the company, during which - among other projects - he worked on his Bachelor Thesis. His Thesis deals with the Legacy of the Olympic Games, specifically in the field of Public Transport.
Outside of the office Bastiaan can be found training and competing with fellow students and athletes in the sport’s discipline Track and Field, focusing on the High Jump. His athletic mindset comes in useful at the office at well. Bastiaan is a high achiever and when he sets his mind to a specific goal, he will not let go before he achieves it, displaying a lot of enthusiasm along the way. Bastiaan has a flexible mindset and performs well both in teams and individually.
Bastiaan is something of a rising star at TransTec. The Olympic Games being a hot topic in the Netherlands, shortly after he graduated the national media paid some attention to his Thesis. He also had the honor of seeing his thesis added to the Dutch Olympic Knowledge Database.
