Maarten de Keijzer
Maarten de Keijzer completed his studies of Urban Planning at the University of Amsterdam in 1989. While studying in Amsterdam he had also attended a wide range of courses in the field of Mobility, Urban Development and Architecture at the Technical University of Delft. After brief stints in automation and architecture, he entered the fascinating world of Public Transport at the renowned NZH Transport Company. He started out in a planning capacity, focusing on the Leiden/The Hague area, and later switched to the in-house consultancy department. While working at NZH he also got the chance to hone his skills as a bus driver thanks to occasional driving duties.
Longing for a new challenge, Maarten and his wife decided to travel the world for an extended period of time. After returning to the Netherlands, Maarten established himself as an independent consultant offering his mobility related consulting services through his company De Keijzer Verkeer en Vervoeradvies. In the ten years that followed, he worked on numerous mobility projects on behalf of transport companies, government bodies and organizations.
In mid 2006 Maarten and his wife decided it was yet again time for a totally different challenge. They embarked on an expedition to Masaya in Nicaragua. Together with his family Maarten managed to build an educational facility from scratch and worked on various other development projects on behalf of the Dutch charity organisation Monimbó.
As soon as the educational centre was running smoothly, Maarten and his family returned to the Netherlands and Maarten picked up where he had left off. Since the beginning of May 2010 he has entered a comprehensive and mutually beneficial partnership with TransTec PT Consultants.
Although Maarten definitely is an independent thinker, he thrives when working in teams. Maarten loves long distance running, rowing and cycling, so the concept of endurance is something he is very familiar with. He loves the challenge of reducing complex issues to clear, simple and manageable processes with a clear start, finish and bottom line.
