Rudy Schoonveld
Rudy joined TransTec in August 2007 as a senior consultant. He graduated from the University of Groningen with a degree in Law, specifically in the field of Urban Planning. Subsequently he acquired a Masters degree in Strategic Management at the University of Utrecht. Rudy is a highly motivated consultant with a keen interest in public transport developments. He has strong analytical skills and manages to get complex messages across. He also feels comfortable making important decisions. Last but not least, he knows how to put an effective link between policy and practical implementation and he grasps the force field that reigns between them. Rudy is an excellent coach, with specific skills in getting large groups of people working towards a common goal.
Before making the switch to TransTec, Rudy worked in different functions at Overijssel Province and the City of Rotterdam. At the latter he managed some major projects and programs, among which the ground lease conversion, the advertising policy and the Rotterdam Telecommunication City initiative.
For 8 years Rudy was president of ROVER, the Dutch public transport Passengers’ Association. He managed turning ROVER from a rather unknown organisation into a major player in the public transport domain.
His experience at ROVER has imprinted him with the reflex of putting the passenger first. In his case this is not just another catch phrase. Rudy truly knows how to translate the interest of passengers into successful practical measures. On another plane, he has become quite skilful in translating diverging wishes into common goals and measures that enjoy wide support from the involved parties.
